How often do we plan for the future and indeed live a lot of our lives either looking forward or looking back.

And that is how it should be because this is what it is to be human.

However the Christmas season got me thinking about the specialness of this time in whatever way we celebrate it.

It is the end of the year. It is the start of a new year. It is a time to be with loved ones. It is a time for celebration and also a time for reflection. It is a time of lessons learned, a time for plans and also Resolutions!!!

However the most important thing I think we need to take from this time is the Magic of Now.

The Magic of Now is about being grateful for being alive to do whatever we do, in this amazing country, at this time, with the people we love and care about all around us.

As Fred Dagg famously said we do not know how lucky we are!!

I think everyone we has faced difficulties over the last year and has made it to the end in the very best way that they can. And that is an achievement.

So it is important we value what we have. And the really fascinating thing about this is that almost always when we do this it open us up to opportunities.

I see people every day and as you can imagine I study them for insights. And the most intriguing thing I notice is that the people whom fortune smiles upon most of all have one thing in common.

They value who they are and they value what they have in the Now.

So thank you to you all and may this season be one of happiness, love, success and the closeness of those you love.
